PERFORMANCES (2014-2018)
SPRING/SUMMER 2018
Fantastic Street Choirs Festival this year. Thanks so much to everyone in Hullabaloo Choir in Brighton
Our, by now regular, Spring Concert in aid of Bury Hospice raised £1000. It was lovely to be joined at the Fusilier's Museum by two other local choirs: Notability and Affetside Community Choir. Great job, guys.

SPRING/SUMMER 2017
February saw us running a performance-cum-workshop event with Jigsaw. A recording of one of our songs, "Rolling Home" can be seen on our facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/acapeelers/https://www.facebook.com/acapeelers/
In the summer term we learned new songs in preparation for the Street Choirs Festival in June, with a smashing "dry-run-performance" night at a member's birthday party.
As usual, Street Choirs was great fun and our rendition of Stan Jones' "Ghost Riders in the Sky" seemed to go down particularly well. Our lovely tenors are pictured at the mass sing.

AUTUMN/WINTER 2016
At the end of November a strong contingent of the choir turned out for carols and seasonal songs at Summerseat Garden Centre in support of Jigsaw raised valuable funds for this great local charity.
Early December saw us entertaining friends and carers associated with the North West Mental Health Trust. The Curve is a lovely building in which to sing ... and thank you to them for allowing us to dive into their buffet :o) And just a week later we were in Bury Art Gallery, providing seasonal material to cheer visitors and, in particular, being a bit "Dickensian" for the gallery's sketching event.
Finally, anyone in The Two Tubs on our last Thursday of the year can't have failed to miss us enjoying ourselves and entertaining friends and family in the back room!
We also said goodbye to Anita, our stalwart deputy, who has taken on some other groups more local to her and isn't able to deputise any more. We are on the lookout for someone .... but in the meantime we wish her all the best.

SPRING/SUMMER 2016
A small contingent sang for a wedding in Tottington in July and our final "gig" of the year was at Christchurch Methodist Church in Ramsbottom. Video and pictures of the event were posted on facebook. Make sure the like us!
In early June we joined many other choirs in the North West in Albert Square, Manchester at the Sing for Water North event. A wet but very enjoyable day (as always).
The National Street Choirs festival was held in Leicester this year in late June. We performed "John Ball" and "Not Enough Homes" and had great busking venues on the Saturday.
In May we sang at the Drill Hall of the Castle Armoury in Bury supporting local business in Bury.
April Fools Day ... and we had an interesting experience as part of Manchester's Short & Sweet event at the rather wonderful - if terribly cold - Victoria Baths

AUTUMN/WINTER 2015
December 2015 saw us busking in our local pubs in central Bury and entertaining the public on the platform of Bury station on the East Lancashire Railway as they waited for the Santa Special. We also had one of our traditional Friends and Family concerts at Blackburne Hall.
Really enjoyed singing in support of Jigsaw at Summerseat Garden Centre in November - and they were able to raise over £790, which is fabulous. The Acapeelers were privileged to be a part of that event.
We started rehearsals a few weeks earlier this year as we prepared to join in Glaston-Bury - a wonderful local music event held over the Bank Holiday ... and all in aid of Bury Hospice.
Our contribution to the OneDayOneChoir initiative for Peace Day September 21st was a concert at Prestwich Methodist Church which was thoroughly enjoyed by all - performers and audience.

SPRING/SUMMER 2015
A beautiful
weekend of singing our Spring repertoire in April: Saturday in Bury Art
Gallery, followed by Sunday in Epworth Grange Care Home
It was lovely to be able to support a local couple who got married at St Paul's in Ramsbottom in May this year; the choir sent a small contingent (see picture, right) Pictured are members of the choir in Whitby for the Street Choirs Festival in July of this year. There were over 50 choirs participating with nigh on 1,000 singers and, for the most part, lovely weather! Picture below show us busking around the town. Click below to hear our performance pieces for the event: a version of John Martyn's I Don't Wanna Know 'bout Evil arranged by the lovely Roxane Smith and new words to the old tune, "Northfield".

Sing for Water - We joined approximately 40 other choirs in Albert Square Manchester as part of Sing for Water North in June. Some of our water songs (albeit from our end of year, Friends & Family concert) can be heard here, above; click to play other tracks.

AUTUMN/WINTER 2014
We had a lovely Friends and Family Event at the end of the Winter Term and raised more money for Bury Hospice
The build-up to Christmas 2014 presented with a number of busking opportunities: at Summerseat Garden Centre; in the hailstorm outside Asda in Radcliffe and on The Rock in Bury town centre.
We spent a beautiful afternoon up in the in hills of Bircle, singing at St. John the baptist Church for a "Contact the Elderly" afternoon tea. Below are recordings of the songs we sang on the day
SPRING/SUMMER 2014
EARLY AUGUST: We enjoyed singing "Here There and Everywhere" for a wedding in Bamford
LATE JULY: A lovely hot busking day on the East Lancashire Railway jointly with members of the Singing for Fun group. Over £40 raised for a number of charities.
